LOS ANGELES — January 29, 2014 — In an effort to ease overcrowding at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, Eastwood Ranch Foundation and PAWS For Hope and Faith have teamed up for “No Pet Left Behind”, a five-day shelter pardon and adoption event. The pardon ensures that no adoptable dog or cat will be euthanized for one week, while members of PAWS For Hope and Faith work to find permanent homes for the more than 300 animals that are currently housed at the shelter.

Since its inception in 2011, Shane and Janet Smith of PAWS For Hope and Faith, have participated in dozens of shelter pardons across the country. The duo, whose motto is “saving the world one dog at a time”, has helped place thousands of pets in happy loving homes “Our goal is to not only empty the shelter, said Shane Smith, Co-Founder of PAWS For Hope and Faith, but also to bring awareness to the plight of unwanted or neglected pets that find their way to the shelter.”

“Eastwood Ranch Foundation is proud to be a partner in this event, said actress/director Alison Eastwood, which stresses the need for a long term solution to the ongoing issue of discarded pets in our shelters, due to owners failure to act responsibly and spay and neuter.” The adoption event will be held February 4th – February 8th at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, located at 333 Chandler Place, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Adoption hours are from 10am – 4:30pm. Adoption fees are $55 for dogs and cats, and includes a microchip, Bordetella and 5 in 1vaccinations.

The Lucy Pet Foundation will provide on-site low cost spay and neutering for any dog or cat adopted from the shelter. Local residents are also encouraged to bring down their pets to take advantage of low cost spaying and neutering.
