Meet Django – Our Special Rescue Stories

(Caution Graphic Images) Imagine being victimized, then vilified. That's exactly what happened to Django. who was was stabbed repeatedly by his owner with a box cutter, then tossed into a shed, where he was left for 4 days. A neighbor notified animal control who came and confiscated Django and got him treated for his wounds. Django spent over a month at the shelter recovering from his injuries. In the beginning, he would growl at staff, always on edge, scared that anyone who approached him was going to hurt him. Due to the trauma he suffered he could not be adopted out to the public. The shelter put out a plea to rescue groups. When Eastwood Ranch Foundation heard about his tragic story, they knew they had to help. They knew he would need rehabilitation and training so he could learn to trust people again. They reached out Canine Rehabilitation Center & Cat Sanctuary, which has built a great reputation on helping dogs suffering from trauma and behavioral issues. CRCCS agreed to take Django into their program.
